A beginners guide to Ayurveda (Part 1)

Ayurvedic medicine is much more than just medicine. This 5,000-year-old practice began in India and has since spread across the world, shaping and improving the way we do Self-care.

Ayurveda is focused on prevention and aims to create harmony within the mind, body, and spirit.

The history of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda dates back thousands of years. The earliest recorded texts on the practice, known as "The Vedas," describe the transfer of knowledge and wisdom from gods to sages and then from sages to doctors.

The Vedas detail extensive preventive care approaches as well as treatments, everything from surgical procedures to plastic surgery, dentistry & skincare.

India's rich tradition of medicine has thrived even when faced with political conflict and invasion. The country was not dissuaded by Western influence to continue practicing on their own edges society until recently when they found themselves independent from Britain in the midst 20th century--and then again during 70s-80s under Prime Minister Indira Gandhi before being reunited once more after independence came about! And now it’s beginning to make real headways since the arrival of so many yoga studios in the west since the late 80’s
